I just love doing mind maps using my iPad and a little programme called Jot. Jot is a combination of drawing and writing which makes basic mindmapping very easy to do. So I have spent the last few days doing my usual Pomodoros, although yesterday, Tuesday, I didn’t actually do any for once, a combination of nerves and a wisdom tooth extraction. Three four or five per day I have been doing recently working on Jot and also uploading properties into my website for Valencia Property and writing articles for Blokes on the Blog and more.
Now my biggest mindmap is something that since I did it last week I have been totally ignoring and it is my “What I have to do every day” mindmap. I suppose I best get down to it.
Do you use Mindmaps in your work and if so what for?
I have so many projects on the go at the moment that it is difficult to find time to come in here and post the log. However here are a few things that have been done, just assume 5 Pomodoros a day at least!
Valencia Property is so busy it is unbelievable. I would like to thing that the new Valencia Property website has something to do with that!
The new site at www.wpinstallations.net is ready to go live. We are just doing the last of the beta testing and then we are there.
A new Facebook project is ongoing and should be ready to go in the next week or so. No link yet as it is a bit of a secret!
I have been writing a lot on Blokes on the Blog too. My last post about Google’s Abuse of their Market Position and the New Kid on the Block was nice.
So as you can see moving along and moving on up. Let’s see if my clients allow me to get some work done.
So anyway as you already know I had a December to forget. If next year’s is the same I am leaving the country. Anyway, I was still doing Pomodoros, mostly to do with the new Valencia Property site.
Valencia Property is now up and running and bit by bit properties are being added to the database and those are the Pomodoros that get done. So how many have I done over the Xmas period. I am ashamed to say that every day I did at least one and I will venture to say an average of three per day over Xmas.
December has gone so January is now here and the Pomodoros will start flowing again.
Hope you had a great end of year, better than me at least, and that 2011 will be better than 2010.
Some links from the Pomodoros done:
I don’t think it is ever possible to catch up because that would suggest that in some way I had a huge plan and that one day things would just stop in order for me to get there. So I have spent the last few weeks catching up after the Mac breakdown, and the virtual nervous breakdown that accompanied it.
So what have I been doing? Well Valencia Property is now back up and running with a new look although there are still lots of properties that need uploading. However you will understand that each property takes about half a pomodoro to set up as it needs the photos uploading, tagging and much more even though I am copying and pasting the text from one site to another.
I would say that I have averaged at least eight Pomodoros a day for the last three weeks but you will have to take my word for that! The proof is in the website of course.
This blog has been quiet because my Mac died in case you didn’t know. But now the Mac is back!
Yesterday therefore I actually got bored because I was uploading properties into the Valencia Property database. That is one boring job when there are well over 100 properties to upload. I also put together a new website that will be developed over the next week or so. It’s all about WordPress Installations.
I have had a bit of a disaster but set a new record for pomodoros. Yesterday I did 40 pomodoros in total more or less in a 20 hour concentrated session of trying to get my data back and reinstall the operating system for the computer.
The absolute nightmare comes as I am trying to upload all of the photos onto Valencia property’s new site. To be ready for next Wednesday as the new site. Unfortunately this date might now have to be put back. I cannot do any more until I have my computer working again and currently this is looking a tad iffy.
The new website for Valencia Property is on the way. So yesterday a couple of Pomodoros were taken up uploading properties into the new database. And that will be happening now until next week when the website goes live. How many Pomodoros it will take is anybody’s guess but expect at least 30 more in the next few days.
Also spent some time responding to emails from an influx of clients over the last few days but I am not going to count those yet.
It is the end of a long day with aching shoulders I say, 11 Pomodoros directly and a lot of other time taken putting up new properties into the database for Valencia Property. That is a tiring day although my actual steps taken today could probably be counted without even breaking three figures. Football tomorrow yay!!
I have been away for five days at the #EBE10 conference in Seville and my Pomodoro Log was cruelly ignored whilst there. In fact my Pomodoros were generally ignored so today suffice to say that so far there have been two Pomodoros working on Valencia Property and there are a lot more to come.
Nevertheless I did learn a lot in Seville about how to organise and run a conference which was one of my goals on going there and the networking, ie eating tapas and having a few drinks with virtual friends now real friends was excellent. Watch out for a blog post about it in both English and Spanish on Entrepreneur Solo very soon.
I spent a lot of the weekend writing. The new Valencia Property website should be ready in the next couple of weeks and in order to do that I need to write a lot including metatagging and descriptions of houses to be more SEO friendly while keeping what made the site special originally, the honesty of the descriptions. So around 8 Pomodoros over the weekend, I lost count.
Sitting in the morning sun in Bonaire, Valencia writing to get out of the house while the family goes shopping. I have had a coffee and limon granizado and written two articles in two pomodoros on two blogs. One can be found on houses for sale in Spain and is about the climate in Valencia and Spain in general when comparing it with the uk and the other talks about lessons to take from conferences based on my experience at the #tc10 Challenge conference in London last week and you can find it at entrepreneur solo
